England Vs Pakistan 1st T20 Match:Abandoned Due To Rain

Welcome to the complete updates of the 1st T20 Match Between England vs Pakistan at Old Trafford, Manchester:

The first T20I between England and Pakistan had no result after the match had been abandoned due to rain. England, batting first, was 131/6 after 16.1 overs when the rains arrived.

In the first over, Jonny Bairstow (2) dropped. David Malan had run out at 23 in the 10th position, just as Tom Banton had begun to strike at the other end. Banton, who had fallen to five, went on to score his maiden T20I fifty before dropping to 71. Eoin Morgan (14) was also out soon after, as England had not been able to cash in on the momentum they had picked up in the middle overs.

Highlights:

Weather Forecast And Pitch:

With the first T20I being played at Old Trafford in Manchester, there is a likelihood of rain affecting the proceedings. Since there has been a lot of rain in Manchester over the last three days, the pitch will contain some moisture that will benefit pacers.

Pope Out For 4 Months:

Ollie Pope has been ruled out for an extended period owing to this dive he put in in the 3rd Test vs Pakistan.

Pakistan Won The Toss And Elected To Bowl First:

England was the first to fight in the 1st T20I. Babar Azam says that his decision was affected by the circumstances. With the rain hazard hanging on, the side chasing will have a definite advantage when it comes to DLS results.

Match Begins:

There’s some kind of rain hazard hanging around, but David Lloyd is hoping to have a complete match tonight. Bairstow and Banton are heading out to the middle of England. Rizwan is taking a spot behind the stumps. Pakistan starts with Imad Wasim.

Great Start From Pakistan:

David Malan is in three, joining Tom Banton, who only played 1 ball for 1 run in the first round. Shaheen Afridi bowls are the second over. Banton is not loving his time against the left-arm pacers. Four dot balls to start the whole thing. Banton’s going to connect with the fifth stone. For the first four of the match, tucked off the pads to the fine leg. The dolly of the catch dropped by Iftikhar at the first slip to give Banton life. ENG 7/1 after 2.

Amir Gives Away Just 4 In 4th Over:

Mohammad Amir joined the attack, replacing Shaheen, who had deserved a wicket for his last time. Another fantastic over from another Pakistan bowler. Malan is disturbed by some extra bounce created by Amir. 19/1 of ENG after 4.

Just The 2nd Four Of The Innings:

Shaheen Afridi bowls the fourth over. Malan gets his four and just the second four of the innings with a pull to backward square leg. Shaheen comes back well to get the better of Malan with a yorker and an off-cutter that deceives the batsman. ENG 25/1 after 5.

ENG 34/1 After First Powerplay:

It was brought to the attention of the umpires that Amir had unintentionally added saliva to the ball in his last game. They’re talking to the Pakistani captain and Amir, Hafeez is also coming up to join the conversation. The ball is sanitized and no action is taken against Amir, who is back in the 6th frame. Malan is trying to swing high, but Amir’s slower ball is also out of reach. Banton has a better chance, a four-stroke pull to a deep midwicket collapse. ENG 34/1 after 6 years.

Big Over – 13 Runs From Rauf’s Over:

Shadab Khan in the 8th round of the assault. Banton is capturing the opportunity. Slog is sweeping for a six. The first six of the match. Shadab looks like he’s going to change his pace to throw off the batsmen. Only three more singles on the left. Haris Rauf continues his medium speed in the 9th position. And England would finally get the big one they expected. 13 is running from the top. There is also a 50 relationship between these two. ENG 62/1 after 9.

England Hit Their Stride:

Eoin Morgan, at 4 o’clock, plays the reverse sweep for four of his first hit. Imad Wasim bowls on the 11th. Banton drives a single to lift his 50s. It’s the first T20I fifty. Morgan also cuts loose against Wasim. Six of them! Pulled to the limit. And at the other end, Banton follows suit. Six of them creamed for a long period. 15 runs are coming over from the Imad Wasim. England, they begin to hit their pace, now 94/2 after 11 overs.

Banton Carnage:

Banton is making Pakistan pay for the early-decreased pick. Bring out a series of shots-including a scoop over the keeper’s head for four-to put Pakistan to the sword. Scoops Haris Rauf for six of them! Atrocious hitting the youngster. Another costly thing about England heading to the three-digit mark in the 12th over. ENG 107/2 after 12.

Banton Out For 71:

Tom Banton, who put Pakistan to the sword, is gone. Shadab Khan is taking a tope edge off him, and he’s going off 42 balls for 71. It was dropped as early as the second of the match. Banton, taking a while to play in, has given England a great platform for the last 7 overs. Moeen Ali is at 5. ING 111/3 after 13.

Morgan Follows Banton Into Hut:

Iftikhar Ahmed bowls the 14th position. Moeen Ali strokes him across the covers for a boundary. But in the end, the bowler has the last laugh. Get Morgan’s LBW plumb with his last ball as Morgan tries for the sweep and fails. Iftikhar is going to make up for the Banton dropped catch with this precious wicket. Morgan is going to fall for 14. E. NG 118/4 after 14.

England Lose Three Quick Wickets:

Moeen Ali’s out for 8. Rizwan makes a second diving attempt to catch the catch. Pakistan is now running through the opposition, taking back the momentum after England seemed to be running away from it in the center. Lewis Gregory is 7 years old, with England stretched by Pakistani spinners. Shadab Khan is going to get a second important wicket. 121/5 after 15.

England Lose Their Way:

And there’s the sixth wicket, the 16th over Imad Wasim’s bows. Once again, Rizwan at it. Lewis Gregory is not amused by the bat. He’s still stumped for 2. Rizwan in the kitchen! Imad Wasim is going to get a second wicket. Chris Jordan, coming back to the field after his surgery, is at 8 with the home team in a rough spot in the last few rounds. Env 126/6 after 16 years.

Rain Halts Play:

It’s been brewing for a while. The rain was expected for today. And now it’s coming down ‘really rough,’ says David Lloyd. The covers are moving on. The players’ troops are gone. England 131/6 overs at this juncture after 16.1.

Rain Stops, Overs Being Lost:

The covers are still on but the rain has decreased in intensity in the past few minutes. The umpires are on the field with umbrellas. On another note, we have started to lose overs now. We are set to not have a 40-over match now. Remains to be seen if Pakistan is straightaway given a revised target to chase when play resumes.

Mandatory Restart Time Nearing:

The landmen were in the middle of the attempt to blow up, but the rain came back and they went running again. We need to restart by 1.49 p.m. (IST) to have a complete game. Which means a 5-over chase by Pakistan, with a revised target of 56. The good news is that the rain has stopped for the moment. Time for the men of the case to get into action. They have around half an hour to get the ground ready.

Match Abandoned:

The verdict is in. That’s it for the first T20I. The rain has the last laugh in Manchester again. Pakistan will be disappointed after having restricted the hosts to 131/6 after 16.1 overs.
