ENG vs SA 2022: ECB announces England’s Playing Eleven For Final Test against South Africa

ENG vs SA 2022: The England Cricket Board has announced team England’s playing eleven for the final Test against South Africa, starting September 8 at the Kennington Oval in London.

Due to the unavailability of star England batter Jonny Bairstow, the board decided to give Harry Brook an opportunity.

The England Cricket Board stated last Friday that batsman Jonny Bairstow would miss the remainder of the summer and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

While playing golf in Leeds, Bairstow was involved in an accident that resulted in a lower limb injury. To determine the entire extent of the injury, he will visit a specialist.

In January of this year, Brook played in his first T20I match against the West Indies. He has played for England in four T20I matches thus far, amassing 65 runs at an average of 16.25. His best score so far in the shortest format of the game is 28.

Brook has played 56 matches in First-Class cricket, totaling 3,067 runs at an average of 36.08 in 90 innings. His top mark in the format for an individual is 194. In the format, he has seven centuries and 17 half-centuries.

The second Test match of the Test series between England and South Africa was won by England by an innings and 85 runs.

That settled the 3-match series to 1-1, as the first test was won by the visitors by an innings and 12 runs.

And now the third and final test will decide which team will win the series.

England is in seventh place in the ICC World Test Championship for the years 2022–2023, having won six matches, lost eight, and tied four. They have a 35.19 winning percentage.

South Africa, on the other side, is ranked second in the Championship. They have six victories, three losses, and zero draws in tests in that period. They have a 66.67 winning percentage.
