ENG VS PAK 2nd Test: How it Happened on Last Day?
Pakistan needed 157 runs when we arrived, and England needed 6 wickets. To send Ashraf back, Root struck first. However, Shakeel and Nawaz continued the struggle with an 80-run stand, and Stokes then turned on Mark Wood. The teammate from Stokes’ Durham squad struck. Shakeel would feel a little unlucky to have missed out on a hundred, but he would also feel that his decision was questionable. The speedster bowled a hostile spell before lunch and picked up the two set batters. Abrar was given the advantage over the two bowlers and attempted a couple shots, but they failed to stick. Salman continued the pursuit, but eventually it became too much for him.

Earlier, England scored a quick 281 in the first innings. Pakistan batters were giving a fitting reply to the visitors in the first innings but collapsed later on at 202. This brought English batters to come and set the target on day 3 itself. It looked like England didn’t mind losing wickets. Their bowlers didn’t mind not having a big cushion. The team scored 275 in 65 overs! This set target of 354 for the hosts to chase. They were going great but the English bowlers were too good for them!
ENG VS PAK 2nd Test MATCH ANALYSIS
This is first-ever back-to-back victories for England in Pakistan. It’s their first series victory there since 2000–01 and only the fourth Test they’ve ever won there (the others were in 1961 and 2000). For the first time since 1959, Pakistan has suffered three straight home losses. They nearly gave up in the pursuit, and who knows what may have transpired if Joel Wilson had had a different perspective on the departure of Saud Shakeel just before lunch. However, you can’t take anything away from a resurgent England, who have now won eight of their last nine games while being captained by Ben Stokes.
Under Stokes and McCullum, England has defeated South Africa and New Zealand at home, defeated India in that one-off Test, and now has an unbeatable 2-0 lead in Pakistan. Something is developing between this group of players and the management. They are succeeding and changing the way Test cricket has traditionally been played. Pakistan, on the other hand, needs to fix their bowling because, aside from Abrar Ahmed, the rest looked toothless and fairly ordinary. They also lack the killer instinct. That concludes this Test; however, there is one more on this tour, which begins on Saturday (December 17).
