ENG vs AUS 3rd ODI 1st Innings Update: In today’s third and final ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl, giving Australia a big boost thanks to the centuries scored by opening bats Travis Head and David Warner.
After winning the first two games, the hosts have already clinched the series. Australia took the first match by six wickets, and the second contest by 72 runs. With 174 runs scored, Steven Smith leads the series in runs scored, while Adam Zampa holds the record for most wickets taken with seven.
The match was reduced to 48 overs, as the match was stopped a couple of times due to rain and thus umpires have decided to reduce the match by two overs and make it a 48-over match.

David Warner, in contrast, hit 106 off of 102. He hit two sixes and eight fours in his knock. His centuries marked as 19th in his ODI cricket career as he once again played like a little beast. He played more like an anchor where he was supporting Travis and ticking singles on the other end. Warner was at his best as we saw one of the most beautiful innings by David Warner.

After losing the first wicket Australia looked like they were losing one wicket after another as everyone was going back to Pavillion very soon and Mitchell Marsh was strong and brave as he stood tall and scored a quick little cameo of 30 runs from 16 balls with one four and two sixes before getting dismissed to Olly Stone in the final over.
Australia with a couple of good performances set up a good total of 355/5 in 48 overs.

England’s Bowlers were really poor throughout the innings as they failed to stop the opening pair of Australia. The Australian openers were destroying England’s bowlers left and right. England after picking the first wicket in the 38th over started to come back into the game as they picked up wickets after that in regular intervals. Olly Stone was England’s crucial bowler who picked up four wickets. He tried to stop the run flow of England’s batsman, but was successful only to an extent.
Olly picked up 4 wickets in 10 overs and conceded 85 runs at an economy of 8.2. Liam Dawson was the only other bowler who picked one wicket. Chris Wokes, Willey, and Sam Curran failed to pick up wickets as England cruised past England bowlers as they finished the First Innings on 355/5 in 48 overs.

England now needs to perform strongly to overcome the Australian pace attack. As the Australian bowlers will be looking to puncture the England batting order and clean sweep the series. While on the other hand England will be looking to win the match and have some consolation.
