Day 3 – West Zone led by 367 runs.

West Zone dominated Northeast Zone on the third day of the Duleep Trophy match. The former declared at 590/2, and their bowlers responded well, dismissing NEZ for 235. Jaydev Unadkat and CT Gaja were the standout bowlers, each taking three and four wickets. West Zone is 12/1 at stumps and leads by 367 runs.

Earlier in the day, it was one-way traffic as the West Zone dominated the North East Zone. Before getting dismissed, Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a beautiful double century. Ajinkya Rahane, who had returned from injury, also hit a superb double century as West Zone finished Day 2 with a massive score of 590/2.

West Zone now has three centurions from their Top 3. Earlier, Prithvi Shaw hit a century and Yashasvi Jaiswal recorded a double century as West Zone piled on the runs against North East Zone. Prithvi Shaw and Jaiswal combined for a 206-run opening stand. On a rain-shortened first day, both players scored half-centuries to put up an undefeated 116-run stand.

Day 3 – North Zone lead by 36 runs.

On Saturday, Yash Dhull was the standout of the day, scoring 193 versus East Zone. As a result, North Zone was 433/3 at stumps on Day 3 of the Duleep Trophy 2022 match against East Zone. They have a 36-run lead. Dhruv Shorey also hit a good 82, while Himanshu Rana finished the day unbroken on 62. East Zone had previously accumulated 397 in their first innings on DAY 2 thanks to Virat Singh’s excellent 117-run effort.

Virat Singh hit a superb century as East Zone drew in on a large total against North Zone in the first session. While the East Zone lost skipper Manoj Tiwari early on Day 2, Abhishek Porel and Virat Singh put pressure on the North Zone bowlers. Virat is on his way to a century, while Porel anchors from the other end.

East Zone posted 179/3 at stumps on day one. Sudip Kumar Gharami was the day’s standout performer, scoring 68 runs and Anustup Majumdar 47. Virat Singh and skipper Manoj Tiwary were at the crease at stumps.
