Australia vs Sri Lanka Match Highlights

Australia applied the right strategy to bowl first and Sri Lanka batsmen had to post a challenging total on the board in order to give a tough competition to the Strong Australian setup. Kusal Perera and Asalanka batted steadily and built the innings for their side. And after their dismissal, it was Rajapaksa who played a responsible 33 run knock and helped his side to post a decent total of 154-6 in 20 overs.

Looking at the strong batting lineup, it was just a piece of cake for Australia. Warner and Finch have given an excellent start to the 2nd innings and it was Warners 65 run knock which laid the solid foundation for the Aussies. And they have wrapped up the match in just 17 overs and won the game by a big margin of 7 wickets.

Adam Zampa has been awarded as Player Of The Match for his outstanding spell in this game, Where he has picked 2 crucial wickets and has an impressive economy rate of just 3.

During the post-match presentation, Zampa said – ” Sri Lanka got off to a bit of a flier, so we needed to peg it back. To be honest, it (the surface) was quite slow in the first innings, it spun a little bit more than it did in the second innings. I think the moisture and dew took effect in the second innings. I find them (Sri Lanka) really challenging. They are very good players of spin, I bowled well tonight and am glad I did. I have tended to bowl a little bit in the powerplay, a little bit towards the back end in recent times but with the team that we have got, the big three will bowl in the powerplay and Maxwell bowling a couple of overs”
