The South African Bowling Machine Steyn, who has returned to IPL after 2 long years, was on the bench for the match against KXlP at Chinnaswamy Stadium Bangalore. He was suffering from shoulder inflammation which happened after the match against CSK on 21st April 2019.
Dale was the replacement for injured Nathan Counter-Nile. Now after the Midway of the season, they cannot get one more replacement for the side. After his entry into RCB, they have won all the three matches in a row. RCB actually have a slim chance to get into the playoff.
Steyn had to fly back to his home town to consult a doctor for his injury. He has been picked for WC 2019 keeping that in mind as a precautionary measure he flew back.
“Dale Steyn has been prescribed with ample rest due to inflammation in his shoulder. On account of the state of his health, Dale will not be available to take part further in the ongoing season of IPL. His presence has helped the team immensely and we are very thankful for the inspiration and passion that he brought to the squad, The team will deeply miss his energy and presence around. We wish him a speedy recovery and all the luck for all future endeavours.” – Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of RCB.
