There is a good news coming in for all the Indian cricket fans as team India’s batter Sabbhineni Meghana is all set to join the Indian squad ahead of the first match of Indian women’s cricket team’s first match in the Commonwealth game 2022.

Meghana, who tested positive for COVID some days ago, was almost lost his chance to be with the Indian side in the CWG 2022, but she now has recovered from COVID and out of quarantine, and shared a picture on her Instagram story of a boarding pass to Birmingham, giving signs that she is on the way to the Indian team for the big multi-nation event.

Yesterday, when the Indian team boarded their flight to Birmingham, it was came into light that Sabbhineni Meghana and Pooja Vastrakar has been left behind after testing positive for COVID-19.

But, now after recovering from dangerous corona and completed her compulsory isolation period, she is ready to be part of team India.

However, whether she will a part of India’s final eleven for the first match against Australia on Friday, July 29, is not sure.

There is no update about Pooja, which indicates that she is still completing her isolation period and will surely miss the first two games.

While, in order to play the final group match for India against Barbados on Wednesday, she have to pass the fitness test along with two negative Covid-19 results to receive all clearingto join the Indian team in Birmingham

It’s the first time that T20 women’s cricket is included in the Commonwealth Games, while it only the second time that cricket has been included in the event, previously the men’s 50-overs event played in 1998 were included in the games which held in Kuala Lumpur.

Team India are in Group A of CWG 2022, which also features Australia, Pakistan and Barbados. While England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka are in Group B.
