Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Capitals Head To Head Records Preview:
CSK vs DC Head to Head, The two giants of the league will go head to head against each other in game 55 of IPL 2022. MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will take on Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals. The match is a crucial one for both teams. Chennai can’t afford to lose a game while Delhi has to break its inconsistent run. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will play host to this contest.
Current Form: Chennai Super Kings
The Chennai Super Kings have had a forgettable season so far. 3 wins in 10 games don’t sit well with CSK’s lofty standards. But it has been such a strange season for them. Much of the team’s blame has fallen on a poorly executed auction strategy. The desire to reassemble the winning squad of 2021 resulted in CSK not using its resources adequately. Add to it the injury of their key bowling star, Deepak Chahar, it has been a tough ride for CSK so far.
They started the season with a string of defeats but they were expected to pull through. It was only when they consistently start losing did the alarm bells ring. The burden of captaincy shackled their premier allrounder, Ravindra Jadeja. An odd win over RCB and MI did raise hopes of a comeback but the writing was pretty much on the wall. MS Dhoni returned to the captaincy seat winning a game against SRH. But they were quickly bought back to earth post a loss to RCB. CSK still has a theoretical chance of making the playoffs. But from the looks of it, the play-offs do seem a long shot for this struggling CSK side.
Current Form: Delhi Capitals
The Delhi Capitals themselves have had a mixed tournament so far. They haven’t been able to notch 2 wins in a row. A win has always followed a defeat and vice-versa. With a team like that at their disposal, DC will surely want more consistency from their side. It has been the key moments that have hurt DC the most. The no-ball saga against RR robbed them of some magical momentum. Their ill-planned chase against RCB and LSG cost them dearly. DC kept stuttering right until their last game.
It was the game against SRH where DC really seemed to be coming together as a team. Their explosive batting lineup even in the absence of Prithvi Shaw went on to score big. Bowlers then kept things in check for a large part of the innings. DC with the win over SRH has clearly shown what they bring to the league if they get going. A winning run is what they will desperately want at this juncture.
