CSA T20 League 2022: Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone have the highest salaries as 30 foreign players are recruited

The recruitment of 30 foreign players for the inaugural season of the forthcoming South African T20 competition, CSA T20 League 2022, was revealed on Wednesday. The top-paid English heavy hitters Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone are anticipated to get USD 500,000 apiece, while their colleague Moeen Ali is anticipated to make USD 400,000. According to reports, each side has USD 2 million available for player signings and is only permitted to spend up to USD 250,000 on each player. Any sum spent beyond that will be included in the franchise’s marketing expenses.

11 English players have signed with the CSA T20 League, including former white-ball captain Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Sam Curran, and Will Jacks. Six West Indies players, including world-renowned athletes Jason Holder, Kyle Mayers, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy, and others, have been signed. Harry Tector of Ireland and James Neesham of New Zealand are both signed up for the CSA T20 League.

Niroshan Dickwella and Mahesh Theekshana, two international talents, are among the ten Sri Lankan players that made the list of the 30 marquee players. Due to the CSA T20 Competition’s affiliation with the Indian Premier League, it is to be assumed that no players from Pakistan have signed up for the league (IPL).

The competition for players between CSA T20 and ILT20

For the first season, there will be a pool of 17 players for each club. Five players may be signed by them prior to the auction, including three foreign players (but not two from the same nation), one international South African, and one uncapped South African. The auction is expected to take place in the coming weeks as the league looks to sign more foreign players.

A six-team league with a January 2023 start date that conflicts with the UAE’s ILT20 is planned. Both leagues are vying with one another to sign top foreign players, and they are providing the players with alluring wages to win them over. Three of the six ILT20 teams share IPL owners, while all six CSA T20 teams are owned by IPL team owners.
