Joe Root, England’s amazing Test Captian has received the title of Wisden’s leading cricketer in the world. Root stepped down and retired from his position as recently as the last week. Root resigned as captain last week after five years following a record of one win in 17 games. The player had a series of strong individual performances in 2021, including an aggregate of 1,708 runs at 61.00 in 15 Tests. Rohit, Bumrah was Chosen In Wisden’s five ‘Cricketers of the Year’ List.

While doing so, he is following in the footsteps of Ben Stokes, who was chosen captain of the national squad for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Rizwan received T20 recognition following a record-breaking 2021 season in which he scored 1,329 runs at 72.88 in 27 T20Is, including a century and 11 fifties. Rizwan has become the first cricketer in the worldwide game to reach 1,000 runs in a calendar year when he did so.
