After Sri Lanka batters post a good total on board in the first innings, their bowlers continued the dominating momentum and dismissed 7 Pakistani batters by the time of stumps of day of the second test at Galle.
The visitors have lost 7 wickets for runs before the completion of day 2 play in the 2-match series, and were trailing by 187 runs.
However, they managed to surpass the follow-on, still they will have to make strong strategies for the third day to remain in the game.

After winning the toss, the skipper of Sri Lanka opted to bat. Both the openers, Captain Dimuth Karunaratne and Oshada Fernando provided a modest start to the hosts and added 92 runs for the first wicket.
Fernando walked back into the pavilion after completing his half centuries, with Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis soon returned to the dressing room too, putting Sri Lanka on pressure.
But like always, Dinesh Chandimal came to the rescue and scored the highest run for his team (80) to help his side cross the 250 mark. After Chandimal’s departure, the wicketkeeper batter Niroshan Dickwella took the centre stage and posted half century, and with help of Ramesh Mendis 35 runs cameo the hosts put 378 on board in their first innings.
Then came Sri Lankan bowlers in limelight, as Asitha Fernando hand the visitor’s a setback and removing their opener Abdullah Shafique on duck.
After Fernando, the new campaigner in Sri Lanka’s side, Prabath Jayasuriya got rid off the dangerous Babar Azam for 16.
Mohammed Rizwan and Fawad Alam then showed some intant by both scoring 24, but they failed to convert it to a big one.
The only saviour for Pakistan in the first innings was the young Agha Salman who played a knock of 62 to help his side terminate the follow on as by the time of stumps the visitors were at 191 for 7.
Yasir Shah (13*) and Nauman Ali (0) will resume the innings for Pakistan on day 3.
This the second and final test of the series. The first test was won by Pakistan.
