The Swing star has took 640 wickets so far in 314 innings he played for England in test cricket. He is the highest-wicket taker fast bowler in the list of most wicket-takers in the world. While he created many milestones in the ODI cricket as well as he bagged 269 wickets in 194 games.
However, he has played only 19 T-20 internationals in his career, in which he dismissed 19 batters at an average of 30.66.
And as far as the question why James Anderson never played in IPL is concerned then this question has a simple answer that he has never shown any interest in participating in IPL.
He is very clear in his thoughts and wants to play only test cricket for his country.
“My heart is with playing Test cricket for England. So that is what I’ll concentrate on doing for the foreseeable future. There is a slight worry about domestic T20 competitions doing so well. But speak to players and there is a still a passion to play Test cricket. It’s a real test of someone’s character and skill. It still excites me. I love it. I prioritise it in my head and my heart.” James Anderson once said in an interview.
The 39-year old has always seen focused and committed to play for his national team rather than any league.
Anderson will be next seen in the upcoming England versus New Zealand series, Starting from June 2 in London.
