Shreyas Iyer ruled as Indian in 2022
India batter Shreyas Iyer during the Bangladesh tour became the India’s top run-getter across formats in 2022, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav to achieve the feat.
Shreyas Iyer reached the milestone during the first Test between Bangladesh and India in Chattogram, which started on December 14.
With 1609 runs, Iyer claimed the tag of India’s leading run-scorer across formats in 2022. Suryakumar Yadav, or SKY as he is affectionately called, has scored 1424 runs from 43 innings across the three formats this year for India.
He has scored 302 runs at an average of 60.40, including three fifty-plus scores, in just six innings of international red-ball cricket in 2022.
The 28-year-old batsman is no longer a regular member of India’s T20I squad because he was not chosen for the 2022 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. With an average of 35.61 and a strike rate of 141.15 from 17 T20I innings in 2022, he did manage to score 463 runs.
