Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has received a special cap from the Head Coach, Rahul Dravid for reaching a milestone of 100 Tests for India. The 33-year-old was standing with his wife Anushka Sharma at the Mohali cricket ground during the pre-match presentation.
Interestingly The 1st Test against Sri Lanka is Virat’s 100th Test and 300th Test for Sri Lanka and also the 1st Test game for Rohit Sharma as full-time team India captain. With this Test game, Kohli has now become the 11th player in the Indian Test history to achieve this rare feat.
After the presentation, Virat said – “Thanks, Rahul Bhai, it’s a special moment for me. My wife is here with me, my brother is there in the stands. It’s a team game and the journey wouldn’t have been possible without you guys. Thanks to BCCI too,”
Kohli was extremely proud of playing the longest format of the game and said –“I couldn’t have received it from a better person, my childhood hero. I still have that picture with you from my U-15 days. In present-day cricket, with the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format,”

Indian skipper Rohit has won the toss and elected to bat first. And interestingly Vihari was sent at 1st down and Shreyas Iyer was moved down to the order.
Vihari has made a beautiful 58 in 128 balls – But the main man for this match Virat has missed out on his half-century and made 45 in 76 balls.
During the 2nd half of the day, Rishabh Pant played some extraordinary shots but unfortunately missed out on his century and had to walk down by scoring 96 in just 97 balls. Both Jadeja and Ashwin were not out till the end and both the players will look to add some crucial runs on the board.
