BCCI Meeting with players: India after suffering a shocking defeat in the semi-final game against England, BCCI has a few points to discuss regarding the future of the Indian cricket Team. BCCI is set to listen to the views of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid.
After Team India returns from Australia, BCCI will hold a meeting before making any choices regarding the T20 side.
BCCI’s Statement
A BCCI official said in a statement that “We’ll organize a meeting to talk about a plan for our T20 team.” We wish to avoid making rash decisions. Let the players and team management explain their perspectives first the board will determine how to proceed thereafter.
They further added by saying “We are not concerned about the individuals. They are capable to take their own calls. We are concerned about Indian cricket, team India. What happened against England and what has been happening in knockouts should stop. All our decision-making will be done keeping this thing in mind on how to end this knockout rot.”
Reports on Selection Committee
According to numerous sources, the board is reportedly dissatisfied with the performance of the selection committee. So the board may reassess their choice in order to have a clear understanding of future activities. The average age of the Indian World Cup side, which was 30.6 years. This makes team India one of the tournament’s oldest teams.
Next T20 World Cup
West Indies and United States will host the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024.
