A positive development for India is that top all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is poised to start playing again and will likely to take part in Saurashtra’s final Ranji Trophy match. Which begins on January 24. Chennai will host the game against Tamil Nadu.
Jadeja, who has played in 60 tests, hasn’t played cricket since having knee surgery in August of last year. His return for the first test of the Border-Gavaskar series. Which begins in Nagpur on February 9, will be greatly appreciated by the hosts.

The selectors, along with the NCA and the Indian team management. Decided the all-rounder should play in the Ranji game before making a decision on his participation in the Australia Test series.
This was done in consideration of Jadeja’s absence, as he hasn’t played any cricket since September. His most recent first-class match was the one-off Test at Edgbaston against England last July.
