Yashasvi Jaiswal, a left-handed opener for Mumbai, has praised England batsman Jos Buttler for giving him advice while they were teammates with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Jaiswal scored a half-century on Wednesday’s opening day of the Ranji Trophy final in Bengaluru while competing for 41-time winners Mumbai against Madhya Pradesh (June 22).
Buttler, who received the Orange Cap for scoring the most goals in the IPL 2022, reportedly gave Jaiswal advice to maintain concentration and take his shots when the situation called for it. “I strive to abide by his advice since it has benefited me. Keep playing solid cricketing strokes that I follow while keeping an eye on the ball and understanding the scenario,” After the first day of play, Jaiswal stated in a video posted on BCCI Domestic’s Twitter account.

Jaiswal is in excellent shape coming into the championship game after scoring three consecutive hundreds against Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, respectively. Before being caught by Yash Dubey off Anubhav Agarwal, he was on track for the fourth century.
Jaiswal was poised to earn his fourth century when Madhya Pradesh seamer Anubhav Agarwal dismissed him for 78 on the first day of the Rani Trophy final here on Wednesday. Jaiswal had previously struck a hundred in the quarterfinals and two hundred in the semifinals.
“Yes, I’m a little disappointed, but this is cricket,” I said. I’ve learned that you have to go through both the good and the terrible (parts),” Jaiswal remarked. I’m doing my best to better myself as a cricket player and a person, but in cricket, things won’t always go the way you want them to.
Jaiswal was benched after a few games in the IPL but returned to the Royals’ starting XI in the second half, scoring a few amazing half-tons. Similar circumstances occurred in the Ranji Trophy when he was benched at the group league level before returning with a bang in the semifinals and scored close to 500 runs.
“The same thing occurred there during the IPL. I won three games, was sent from the field, and returned (to the side) after seven games. But despite all of these gaps, I remained focused on the need to study hard and maintain my discipline, said Jaiswal.
