Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022: Mumbai vs Rajasthan
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy quarterfinals: Young Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw is in excellent form. In Tuesday’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy encounter, he played outstandingly. He wasn’t the only one who played well; Mumbai’s Yashasvi Jaiswal also did, leading Mumbai to win over Rajasthan. Mumbai not only won but also qualified for the domestic cricket tournament’s quarterfinals with this victory.
Mumbai’s Innings
Mumbai scored 159 for 6 in a group A encounter thanks to Shaw’s 17-ball-32, which included three fours and two sixes, and Jaiswal’s 27-ball-46. Seven fours and two sixes were peppered during Jaiswal’s innings.

Rajasthan’s Reply
Rajasthan tried to reply back but never shifted their gears. Only Mahipal Lomror’s 46 from 33, Salman Khan’s 35 from 20, and Samarpit Joshi’s 28 off 32 balls scored two-figure runs, all others crumbled and Rajasthan came close but missed out by 20 runs as they scored 139/7 in 20 overs.
Mumbai bowlers Tushar Deshpande, and Mohit Avasthi picked up 2 wickets each. Dhawal Kulkarni, Shams Mulani, and Tanush Kotian picked up one wicket helping Mumbai to restrict Rajasthan to 139/7 in 20 overs.
Prithvi Shaw Next Big Talent
In a match against Sri Lanka last year, Prithvi Shaw was last seen wearing a Team India jersey. He has so far participated in five Tests, six ODIs, and just one T20 match for India. Sarfaraz Khan scored 37 runs and Shivam Dube added 26 runs for Mumbai in this Group-A game, both of whom made significant contributions with the bat.
Rahul Chahar’s spell
Rahul Chahar, a spinner for Rajasthan, performed amazing feats with the ball. In his name, he claimed two wickets for 18 runs. Rajasthan’s side lost four wickets for 47 runs while chasing the score and was unable to gather itself. Tushar Deshpande, a quick bowler from Mumbai, captured two wickets for 12 runs in four overs.
