Former India captain MS Dhoni on Saturday made a rare activity on social media platform when he has changed his Instagram DP to Indian tricolour to mark the 75 years of Independence.
The activity seems shocking to some, as the 2-time world cup winning captain is not really active on social media platforms but today he changed his profile picture to the Indian flag.
MS Dhoni’s new Instagram DP
“I am blessed to be a Bhartiya,” read the picture in English, Hindi and Sanskrit.
As the country is all set to celebrate the 75th independence day on 15th August, the honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has urged every person to change their social media platforms dp to ‘Tiranga’, to celebrate ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The 41-year-old Dhoni’s patriotism isn’t a new thing to shock about as during his playing days, he missed the birth of his daughter Ziva, as Dhoni was on national duty with team India in Australia.
Dhoni last seen on cricket field in the IPL 2022, where he led CSK after the 4-time champions got off to a disastrous start under Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy. He took the captaincy hat back mid-season.
“Everytime I feel so proud, when I see our national flag and hear the national anthem during matches, it completely fills you up and that feeling cannot be compared with anything”, MS Dhoni once said.
Legendary Indian Captain MS Dhoni
Dhoni has established his name as one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket. Dhoni is the only captain to claim the honour of having all three ICC trophies in limited-overs formats, with the T20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011), and the Champions Trophy (2013).
He featured in in 350 ODIs, 98 T20Is and 90 Test matches for India, while he took the retirement from international cricket in August 2020. However, he kept on to play IPL and also assured his fans that he will be there with the team, CSK, in the next season too.
Last year too, Dhoni again did what he is known for as he led his side to the 4th IPL title.
