IND vs ENG 2nd T20I 1st Innings Update:
Ravindra Jadeja’s splendid 46 off 29 helped India to post 170 runs on board in their 20 overs quota at Edgbaston.
Team India got off to a flying start with both openers started thrashing English bowlers in power play.
Skipper Rohit Sharma, who in the first T20 provided a blistering start to his team, again did the same thing and scored 31 off just 19 balls. Unfortunately he got out while he tried to pull the ball but edged with the glove and was caught by England’s captain Jos Buttler.
The new opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant have added 49 runs for the first wicket in just 4.5 overs.
Pant, who played a T20 knock in the recently completed test match, came to open the proceedings today for India and he somehow managed to provide a strong start with 16 ball 26.
Virat Kohli, however, once again failed to create any magic and walked back to pavilion after scoring just 1 run.
Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya then tried to add some runs on board. But they both got out cheaply when India didn’t even crossed 100.
Ravindra Jadeja scored the highest among Indian batters and somehow managed to keep India alive in the game. He scored an unbeaten 46 runs off just 29 deliveries to help his side reach a defendable mark in the second game of the series.
Gleeson, who removed the first three batters ended his 4 overs quota with 4-15-3. While Chris Jordan grabbed the honours of picking the most number of wickets for England. He took 4 wickets in 4 overs while giving 27 runs.
If England managed to chase down this total then the series will be draw on 1-1 with the final game which is scheduled to play on Sunday will decide the series winner. But if Indian bowlers did their best and restricted English batters then India will the win the series today itself.
