IND vs BAN ODI Series Players Update
Mohammad Shami has been replaced in the squad by young pacer Umran Malik for the Bangladesh ODI Series
IND vs BAN ODI Series Players Update: Just one day before the commencement of their ODI series against Bangladesh, Team India suffered a significant setback when fast bowler Mohammed Shami injured his shoulder during a practice match before the first match in Dhaka on Sunday.
Shami is currently working with the BCCI medical staff at the National Cricket Academy; however, he will miss the ODI series even though he is not entirely ruled out of the Bangladesh tour.
Shami had not participated since the previous World when he was called up to the Men in Blue’s shortest-format team after a one-year layoff. After receiving a COVID-19 diagnosis, Shami was forced to miss the October home series against Australia and South Africa. Shami was called up to the Indian T20 World Cup squad to take Jasprit Bumrah’s place.
Shami’s Tweet
After BCCI’s confirmation, Shami posted a touching essay on social media in which he claimed that he has always recovered stronger from injury setbacks. The seasoned pacer described it as a humble experience that teaches you to value every second.
Following his injury, Shami tweeted to reassure his followers that he would recover stronger. He’s recovered stronger from other injuries of a similar nature over the past few years.
Shami finally breaks the silence and addresses on his official Twitter handle saying “Injury, in general, teaches you to appreciate every moment. I’ve had my share of injuries throughout my career. It’s humbling. It gives you perspective. No matter how many times I’ve been hurt, I’ve learned from that injury and come back even more stronger.”
