INDIA vs AUSTRALIA 3rd Test Day-1 Highlights
A total of 14 wickets were taken by the spinners today on day 1
3rd Test, Day-1 Updates: Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne led a solid recovery after India’s early breakthrough when Ravindra Jadeja caught Travis Head for LBW, but later wickets kept tumbling as Jadeja claimed all four. Australia’s score at the end of day 1 was 156/4.
Evidently, spinners have taken all 14 of today’s wickets, and given how the Australian tweakers conducted themselves, it’s not surprising that India hasn’t yet incorporated either of its pacers into the assault. With the exception of the first couple over of each inning, the spinners aren’t doing any harm either.
IND vs AUS Earlier in the Day
Just after the start of the second session, left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann claimed his first five-wicket haul as Australia bowled out India for 109 in the first innings. Nathan Lyon took 3/35 and Kuhnemann finished with 5/16 from nine overs, while T. Murphy had 1/16.
Five Indian players were dismissed in single-digit scores as the spinners dominated the session clearly. Virat Kohli was the highest run scorer from the Indian team as he scored 22 from 52 balls. Shubham Gill had the second-best score of 21 from 18 balls. No one really kept going in front of the Aussie spin attack.
The Indore pitch had a lot in store for the spinners, the spin unit completely utilised the opportunity and capitalised on the situation. But at the end of the day, Indian spinners sightly struggled to stop the Australian players.
Star Batsman of Australia
Usman Khawaja made batting look easy on day 1 at Indore. He smashed yet another half-century in 102 balls. However, he was later dismissed by Jadeja after scoring 60 runs from 140 balls in the 43rd over.
Usman Khawaja held the game for Ausis for quite a long time but he was not successful to stay until the day finished.

Jadeja the Star Man Yet again
Ravindra Jadeja yet again was key in dismissing all the Australian players, Jadeja picked up all four wickets and brought back India into this game early in day-1 one. Now they will have more opportunity to attack day-2.
Ashwin also provided the much-needed support as he finished his spell with 40 runs and 0 wickets in 19 overs.
