Suryakumar Yadav, 31, who bats for the India National Cricket Team, has risen significantly in the most recent ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, which were issued by the ICC on Wednesday. He is now the hitter with the highest ranking among Indians.
Suryakumar Yadav recently scored his first T20I century against England in the third and final T20I in a three-match series at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge, earning a career-high rating of 732 ranking points.
After losing the wickets of Rishabh Pant (1), Virat Kohli (11), and Rohit Sharma (11) during the powerplay, India was reduced to 31/3 while attempting to reach the mark in the game.
To become the fifth Indian player to get a century in a T20 International (T20I) game, Suryakumar Yadav batted beautifully and reached his first T20I century off 48 balls.
He made 117 runs overall from 55 balls, including 14 fours and 6 sixes, before being bowled out by Moeen Ali in the 19th over. India lost the match by 17 runs as a result of failing to successfully chase down the target, making the 31-year-innings old’s useless. Additionally, Suryakumar received appreciation from India’s captain Rohit Sharma for his outstanding performance.
“It was one of the best (innings) in T20s I’ve seen,” India captain Rohit Sharma said. You only get to see that every now and then. We know his quality of him, he’s got shots all over the ground, maneuvering the field, playing all around the ground. It’s a very rare quality a batter can have and Surya definitely has all of that.”
