ICC Awards 2022: The year 2022 is on the verge of ending and the ICC has also started the process of honouring the best-performing players this year.
The ICC Awards are a set of yearly sports honours for international cricket that honour and recognise the top players from the previous 12 months. The International Cricket Council (ICC) launched the awards in 2004.
This will be the eighteenth edition of the ICC Awards 2022. The nominations were based on a player’s performance from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
ODI Cricketer of the Year
The contenders for the Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year are, Pakistan’s Babar Azam, Australia’s Adam Zampa, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, and Shai Hope of West Indies.
While Shabnim Ismail of Pakistan, Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, England’s Nat Sciver and Alyssa Healy of Australia have been nominated in Women’s Category.

T20I Cricketer of the Year
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Team India’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav for T20 Cricketer of the Year-2022. Sam Karan, Pakistani wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, and Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza also been listed in the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Yearlist.
While Vice-Captain of team India Smriti Mandhana, Nida Dar of Pakistan, Tahlia McGrath of Australia, and Sophie Divine of New Zealand are competing for the honour in Women’s Category.

Emerging Cricketer of the Year
Three Indian players are part of among the eight (men and women) players whose names made public for the ICC’s Emerging Player of the Year Award. The ICC has named Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm fast bowler from India, as well as South Africa’s Marco Jansen, New Zealand’s Finn Allen, and Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran as male nominees. Renuka Singh, a fast bowler from India, and batswoman Yastika Bhatia also named as female nominees. In addition, Alice Capsey of England and Darcy Brown of Australia also nominated for this honour.

These awards will be distributed by the ICC in January 2023.
