Harmanpreet Kaur News:
Harmanpreet Kaur, the white-ball captain of India, has re-signed with the Melbourne Renegades for the second season in the 2022–2023 WBBL.
In the most recent WBBL season, Harmanpreet earned the Player of the Tournament for her all-around performance, leading the Renegades’ batting and bowling charts with 406 runs and 15 wickets.
Harmanpreet expressed his excitement at rejoining the Renegades. “Last season, I had a great time working in a team setting, and I believe that it enabled me to play some of my greatest cricket.
“Personally, all I wanted to do was fulfill my part in the team’s success, and it was satisfying to be able to achieve so.
“We worked together as a team last year and were able to achieve some fantastic outcomes, but there is still plenty we can do to go better. We’re hoping to do that, go to the championship round once more, and win.”
Renegades reached the finals stage last season after placing second on the table, however, they fell to Adelaide Strikers in the Challenger.
When the Renegades batted at No. 4 last, Harmanpreet averaged 58.00 and struck out 130.96 with three half-centuries. The most sixes made by a player in the previous season were all 18 of hers.
James Rosengarten, general manager of the Renegades, claimed that Harmanpreet is among the top players in the world and that her record speaks for itself. “Last year, she was terrific for us and frequently the match-winner, making a significant contribution to the tournament with both bat and ball.
“Our squad greatly benefited from Harmanpreet’s leadership skills and ability to remain composed under duress as an experienced player. She fit right in with our squad both on and off the field and really got into it.
“We know our supporters would be pleased by the prospect of witnessing Harmanpreet in action in WBBL08 after being unable to play games in Melbourne last season.”
