CPL 2022 Highlights: The bowlers came to the party when the Trinbago Knight Riders needed the most, Knight Riders put up an amazing fight today morning and the poor form of Amazon Warriors continued. They are currently struggling to come back into the tournament.
After winning the toss Amazon Warriors decided to bowl first, batting first Knight Riders lost their openers quickly, Tion Webster was dismissed for a golden duck and Pooran was dismissed for 15 runs in seven balls. When it felt like Knight Riders were losing wickets Munro and Seifert carried the innings forward, both scored a fifty-run partnership where Munro scored 42 runs in 37 balls and Seifert scored 27 runs in 35 balls. Narine played a quick cameo of 26 runs from 20 balls.
Even Amazon Warriors bowled pretty well, Shamsi picked up four wickets for 37 runs in his four-over spell. Romario Shepherd picked up three wickets in three overs. Even though the Warriors bowled pretty well, they were only able to restrict Knight Riders for 150/8 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Amazon Warriors were dismantled by the Knight Riders. Only Chandrapaul Hemraj tried to carry the innings but was dismissed for 28 runs by Rampaul. No one really held their head up as once again they performed really badly in the batting department.
Sunil Narine after his amazing cameo and brilliant bowling performance stated that “Just build a partnership and take it as deep as possible for Pollard to come and execute what he does best. Set up the game in the powerplay and then ask the spinners to do their thing was the talk during the innings break. Whatever the team needs, I try to deliver. Thanks to the supporters, we are not winning games, but your support is needed.”
Trinbago Knight Riders have moved up to fourth place in the POINTS TABLE after collecting 5 points from 6 matches.
