CAB Tribute to Pele: During the second One-Day International between India and Sri Lanka on Thursday at the Eden Gardens, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will honor the late renowned footballer Pele by playing clips of his artistic talent on massive screens.
Pele visited the Eden Gardens on September 24, 1977, to take part in a match between the New York Cosmos Club and Mohun Bagan. That is how Pele is connected to West Bengal and its people.
Moreover, Bengal state is known for having a very passionate fan base for the sport of football in West Bengal. People here in Bengal are so much into football and the Cricket Association of Bengal is taking it into consideration and decided to give a tribute to the legend Pele.
Pele has inspired to many people not only in football but in other fields. So it was obvious that a state that is filled with football fans had decided to do something like this.
