Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam is all set to create another record he walks in to bat on Sunday. The man in-form Babar Azam is chasing the record of hitting 10 consecutive half centuries in International cricket.
Pakistan, who will play the last match of series against West Indies on Sunday is already won the series by beating the visitors in the first two days, and the skipper has played a huge role in it.
He just not only performed well with the bat but also rotated his bowlers pretty nicely to win the series against West Indies.
In the third and final game of the series, the skipper Azam is eyeing to reach the milestone of scoring 10 back-to-back half-centuries as he has scored 6 consecutive centuries in ODI and 9 overall.
If he hits fifty on Sunday, he would surpass the great Javed Miandad, who has nine consecutive fifties, all in one-day internationals.
Earlier, Azam made history by scoring 103 runs in the first One-Day International against the West Indies, becoming the first ODI batsman to score three consecutive one-day International hundreds twice, and guiding his side to a 5 wicket victory against the visitors.
However, he missed to join Kumar Sangakkara and Amy Satterthwaite as players who have scored four consecutive hundreds in one-day international.
The 27-year-old played a knock of 77 in the second match against West Indies to miss the chance of joining in the elite list of players who smashed four consecutive hundreds in ODI.
Interstingly, Babar score all his nine consecutive half centuries at home soil.
Talking about the series, Pakistan won the first game of the three-match series by 5 wickets, then defeated the visitors by 120 runs in the second ODI, and now hopes to win the three-match series when they face the West Indies in the third ODI on June 12 at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
