It was an excellent contest between both Australia Women and Pakistan Women during the 6th match of ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. The Australian side is purely showing their dominance by winning both the league games and currently they are standing at the top of the points table with 4 points. Let’s go into more detail about AUS vs PAK Women Match Highlights.
Here are the Playing 11 of Both sides:
Pakistan Women Playing XI:
Sidra Ameen, Nahida Khan, Bismah Maroof(c), Omaima Sohail, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Sidra Nawaz(w), Diana Baig, Nashra Sandhu, Anam Amin
Australia Women Playing XI:
Alyssa Healy(w), Rachael Haynes, Meg Lanning(c), Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland, Nicola Carey, Jess Jonassen, Alana King, Amanda Wellington, Megan Schutt
Australia Women have won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan Women and it was the right choice made by the Australian skipper Meg Lanning.
Pakistan openers Ameen and Nahida Khan have stated the proceeding for the 1st innings but they really had a bad start – Both the players had to depart at the early stage of the game.
From there on It was their skipper Maroof(78) and Aliya Riaz(53) who added some crucial runs of the board. And with their help, Pakistan was able to post at least 190 runs on the board. It was Australian Bowlers who were picking wickets at regular intervals and restricting the opponents from scoring big runs.
And it was an easy task for the strong Australian batting unit in order to chase such a small total. Opening batting pair Alyssa Healy and Rachael Haynes have started really well and they have given a dream start to the 2nd innings.
Nothing was really working for the Pakistan bowlers and in just 34.4 overs Australia Women side has chased down the score.
The opening wicket-keeping batter from Australia, Alyssa Healy has been awarded as the player of the match for her extraordinary opening numbers of 72 in 79 balls which includes seven fours.
During the post-match presentation, Alyssa Healy said – “It was a good win, didn’t feel good out there, but nice to spend some time in the middle, especially going into the next few matches against South Africa and West Indies. 3rd match on this wicket, so we were expecting this to be slow, low, and turn a bit. We will be going next to Wellington, not many matches as yet over there, so there should be a nice and fresh pitch there. Just felt a niggle (while batting), but nothing really serious and I should be fine. A bit of a rest, some golf, and we will be ready to go in Wellington.”
