Tanush Kotian is poised to receive his maiden India call-up in the final two tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The 5-match series is currently tied at 1-1, and the fourth match will be crucial for both teams’ chances of qualifying for the WTC 2025 final next year.
India started the series on a winning note, securing a handy 295-run victory in Perth before losing the pink-ball Test at Adelaide and drawing the third test. Ravindra Jadeja, who got the chance of playing in the third game in place of Ashwin, did well with the bat and is likely to retain his spot for the fourth game.
Washington Sundar, a right arm off spin all-rounder, has already been part of the squad, Kotian is expected to be included as Ashwin’s replacement for the remainder of the series.

Kotian likely to join team India as Ashwin’s replacement
The legendary Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin left everyone stunned with his sudden decision of taking retirement from international cricket right after the conclusion of third test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
Ashwin was India’s leading spin bowler during the last 12 years and has ended his excellent career as the second highest wicket taker for India in test cricket with 537 wickets.
