Top 3 Star Players Of ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2019 – Who Have The Caliber To Earn An IPL 2020 Contract

The style of the 2020 T20 World Cup tournament is going to be completely different from earlier T20 World Cup tournaments which have been played. There are eight teams, besides six teams of T20 World Cup, who have made it to Australia and have joined Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Out of these eight teams, the top 4 teams will progress to super 12s.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is ready with a new surprise. Since the auction of IPL 2020 is approaching, there are a lot of developments taking place. The IPL is looking to snap up some star players from these countries at a relatively lower price and there are the 3 players who can earn an IPL contract based on their performance in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

1) JJ Smit (Namibia)

JJ Smit, a 22-year-old all-rounder player from Namibia, proved himself. He has played a crucial role in Namibia’s success. He amassed 164 runs at an extraordinary strike rate of 188.51 in his 7 matches in the tournament. The batting average of Smit is 27.33 which clearly shows that he is a consistent player.

He is also a left-arm fast bowler. With the ball, he has taken 11 wickets at an economy rate of 6.35. Based on his performance, we can conclude that Smit has the caliber to earn an IPL 2020 contract.

2) George Munsey (Scotland)

George Munsey, a Scotland batsman, smashed 6 sixes in a row in the innings for Gloucestershire 2nd XI in April 2019. He made headlines by hitting a 25-ball hundred. His performance in T20 Cricket for Scotland shows his batting consistency.

The Oxford-born player has scored nearly 1000 runs when he played for his nation. Munsey also scored a century in ICC T20I cricket. He is a left-handed batsman who has scored 238 runs for Scotland in just 8 matches at an average of 29.25. He also has a strike rate of above 140. He will be the first player from Scotland to earn an IPL contract this year.

3) Bilal Khan (Oman)

Bilal khan Oman is a 35-year-old left-arm fast bowler who was born in Peshawar. A self-made man, he has played for Oman at the international level.

He has picked up 45 wickets at an economy rate of 7. Bilal Khan was the leading wicket-taker in the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers. His bowling strike rate is 148.

Because Khan is a left-arm pacer, he can prove to be an ‘X-factor’ player for an IPL team this year.
