Though Bumrah won’t feature in MI’s upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 4, reports suggest that he could make a comeback by mid-April. His return would be a major boost for Mumbai Indians as they aim to regain momentum in the tournament.
Having made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2013, Bumrah has been a cornerstone of their bowling attack, scalping 165 wickets in 133 matches at an impressive economy rate of 7.30, including two four-wicket hauls and two fifers.
Post-IPL, Team India will embark on a five-match Test tour of England, where Bumrah’s presence will be vital for their chances. The speedster has played nine games in England and has bagged 37 wickets at an average of 26.22, including two fifers.
