His ‘doosra’ style was always a problem for the batsmen, notably in the 2001 Australia series. Together, they balanced pace and spin, scripting iconic victories on various occasions.
Modern-Day Greats in Indian Squad
Currently, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj define bowling excellence of India. Bumrah’s career ranging from 2016 and still active has 443 wickets in 205 matches, bowling 2,453.1 overs at a stunning 20.46 average, with 15 five-wicket hauls and a 6/19 best.
His unorthodox action dominates across every format. Jadeja and his career started from 2009, a spin-bowling all-rounder, he has 6691 runs at an average of 32.32 average and 294 wickets at a tight economy, he has an expertise in formats like Tests and T20s. Siraj who started his career from 2017, has 185 wickets in 97 matches across 1,271.3 overs at 28.28, and 6/15 being his best, his aggression is a key factor in seaming conditions. This trio’s versatility ensures India’s global dominance in various formats, strengthening India’s bowling excellence.
