The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) office in Eden Gardens was shut down for a week after a temporary worker had been found positive for coronavirus on Saturday. Chandan Das, who operated on a contractual basis in the civil engineering department, returned positive for the COVID-19 test and is currently receiving treatment at Charnock Hospital.

“Mr Chandan Das, who has served in the civil engineering department on a non-permanent basis, has been diagnosed positive today with COVID-19. He is reportedly admitted to Charnock Hospital,” the CAB said in a press release.

The release also claimed that Das had not been in the office for a week, but the officials of the CAB agreed to close the office for the next seven days on the advice of eminent doctors in their medical committee. Only those employees who worked at the CAB office were asked to refrain from visiting the office during this time.

In the meantime, BCCI has been looking for October and November slot to conduct the 13th edition of IPL 2020. BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly in a media briefing stated that of at all IPL 2020 takes place it would be a truncated affair.
