He will be there with (Jasprit) Bumrah, I guess if India gives him a chance. He will go a long way,” Vaas said while addressing the reporters in Mumbai.

Vaas shared his views with the reporters during his visit to Mumbai Cricket Club as part of coaching the young talents. Malik gained attention on Tuesday night after he received the 13th consecutive fastest delivery award in IPL-2022 for clocking 154.8 kmph in a match against Mumbai Indians held at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Umran also registered as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in IPL-2022 where he added 21 scalps to his scorecard with a best of 5/25. Vaas said Umran is growing every day in his game by gaining consistency and accuracy on a good level.

“I think is getting better day by day and I have seen him playing in the last IPL season as well. He is bowling consistency and accuracy are more important in T20 cricket. I guess, he will be there with Bumrah as a bowling pair, I guess if India gives him a chance. He will go a long way,” Times of India quoted him as saying.

The 48-year-old pacer attributed the new players emerging through IPL would solidify India’s first-class cricket. “India has a good first-class cricket structure and most of the first-class teams are producing (good) cricketers,” he was further quoted by TOI, adding that this is why (India) is able to produce so many fast bowlers and good cricketers.
