Bhuvneshwar to lead fast-bowling department for India in T20 World Cup 2022 as Bumrah out due to injury

Jasprit Bumrah Ruled-Out of the T20 World Cup 2022: India faced a big blow ahead of the marquee event as star Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022.

His injury again forced veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take on full responsibility of Indian team’s fast-bowling department.

According to media reports, a stress fracture has prevented star pacer Jasprit Bumrah from competing in the T20 World Cup in 2022, which might be horrible news for Team India. However, Bumrah won’t need surgery, but it will likely take him 4-6 months to fully recover from the injury.

After recovering for around a month at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, he was chosen to play for the T20Is against Australia. He was not the part of 1st T20I of the series but has played the last two games.

Earlier, Bumrah was ruled out of the whole Asia Cup 2022 which made Bhuvneshwar the leader of the pace department in the continental event.

India in Asia Cup 2022

Unfortunately, India failed to qualify for the finals of the competition after facing defeats from Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

The major reason behind India debacle in the Asia Cup 2022 was the loose bowling during the death overs that cost the men in blue 2 games and knocked them out of the competition.

A similar kind of situation now arising in front of the Rohit-led side as with Bumrah again out of the picture. It will difficult now for the management to choose the balanced XI.

Bhuvneshwar, who did wonders many times before. Currently not in good form which is also a sign of worry for the inaugural T20 World Cup Champion team.

Arshdeep Singh – second bowler in India’s squad

Apart from him, Arshdeep Singh is there in the World Cup 2022 squad. But again he was too faced criticism for his expensive bowling in the Asia Cup 2022 event.

He gave 40 runs in 3.5 overs without any wicket against Sri Lanka. And his performance put him in doubt for the World Cup selection.

However, selectors kept their fate on him. And after giving him a break in the home series against Australia. They called him back for the ongoing T20Is against South Africa as part of the marquee event preparations.

In his comeback game, Singh broke the back of the visitors. As he removed their top 3 batter inside the powerplay in Thiruvananthapuram.

Harshal Patel will be third option to choose from the squad in Australia. While Mohammad Shami, who again received a call up for the Australia series after missing the continental event. Currently on standby list of players for the T20 World Cup 2022. But, might be the first choice of selectors to replace injured Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 event.

Mohammad Siraj to Replace Injured Jasprit Bumrah?

Apart from Shami, the other bowler who might replace Bumrah is Mohammad Siraj.
