Bumrah Provides Ashwin’s Fitness Update Ahead Of Mohali Tests

Following a sensational T20I whitewash, India will play Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series that begins on March 4 in Mohali. The Indian team will be headed by the format’s current captain, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah as his deputy,  who have spoken up about various challenges before the play. Bumrah focused on veteran spin bowler Ravi Ashwin’s fitness, who has been out there for a few months. Here in this article, we have mentioned Ashwin’s Fitness Update Ahead Of Mohali Tests.

It should be remembered that Ashwin last appeared in South Africa after missing the white-ball series against Sri Lanka and West Indies. Meanwhile, the Indian fast bowler seems to be optimistic regarding his veteran teammate’s condition, saying that the spin bowler is looking promising.

Ashwin looked very comfortable in training: Bumrah

“The test team had already come before and they were practicing, he (Ashwin) is shaping up well and I don’t know, I am not aware that there are any complaints. He (Ashwin) looked good, he looked very comfortable in training today,” said Bumrah.

Bumrah also stated that Ashwin was doing admirably in the practice sessions prior to the match. It needs to be seen whether Ashwin will be undoubtedly the first-choice in XI player for the Mohali Test. Earlier at the media conference, the Gujarat pacer discussed various details of the match but opted to keep the team choice a secret.

“He was bowling, batting, fielding, he did everything, so I think he is shaping up really well. He plays a very important role whenever we play, so his role will be important and hopefully, there would (will) be no troubles going forward,” he added.

The opening Test versus Sri Lanka will be significant to India for a variety of reasons. The 1st Test will have Rohit Sharma leading the team for the first occasion in whites, whereas Virat Kohli will face his 100th Test.
