IND vs AUS, Day-1 Updates: Australia won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the first game of the series, but their hitters struggled on the fast Nagpur pitch and were dismissed for 177 runs. In the opening innings at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, nobody scored a fifty for the Australian side.

R Ashwin reached a landmark after he got Aussie wicketkeeper Alex Carey (36) clean bowled. Ashwin becomes the 11th bowler to take 450 (or more) wickets in Test cricket. This made Ashwin become the second Indian bowler after Anil Kumble reached 450 Test wickets.
Ashwin is now the second fastest bowler to reach the mark in-side 88 Tests, behind Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralidaran who achieved the feat in 80 matches.
