IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 2 Highlights of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
The final test of the BGT continues to showcase its thriller element from both teams, India who had put up a total of 185 on the 1st day put in a strong bowling performance to restrict the Australian side to 181 in their first innings. Struggling Australian Batting lineup
The Australian team had started their innings with Usman Khwaja dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah for 2 runs on the first day, the second day started with Labuschagne being dismissed by Bumrah for 2 runs. Beau Webster was the only player from the Aussie side to score a strong 57 runs in their innings.
Apart from him Steve Smith and Alex Carey had a respectable stint of 33 and 21 runs respectively. Team India’s bowling performance was brilliant again, however, Bumrah wasn’t the leading wicket-taker in the lineup but he managed to put in a solid performance.
Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj both took 3 wickets to bundle up the Australian side for 181 with India leading by 4 runs and gaining an advantage over the Aussies.
India’s Leading Advantage
Team India started their innings to add a stronger total to their leading advantage. Jaiswal and KL Rahul built a good short-term partnership but, it didn’t last long. Soon after Rahul’s dismissal Shubman Gill was dismissed as well for 13 runs and Virat Kohli entered the Pitch.
Virat Kohli was dismissed by Boland with the same tactic of bowling the bowl towards the 5th stumps and hoping Kohli would nick it. Kohli nicked it towards the slips and was caught for 6 runs, Rishabh Pant finally delivered a strong 61 of 33 in the innings. With Rishabh dismissed and Team India ending the day at 141/6, the team will aim to put in a strong lead and put a dent in the Australian side to win the 5th test which will keep their WTC hopes alive.
