India’s outstanding performance throughout the tournaments making 7 out of 8 matches believed to lift the World Cup trophy of 2019 tournaments. But losing against New Zealand with 18 runs in the semi-finals have turned off India’s phase.
India was in a tough situation when they have lost 3 wickets in the first four overs and had to chase a score of 240. However, it was Ravindra Jadeja who came into bat at No.4 kept, hopes alive for India.
Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat when India has lost Hardik Pandya for 32 in 31st over and joined MS Dhoni when India was at 92 for 6.
The bowling all-rounder Jadeja out of pressure made 79 runs in just 59 balls and pushed the match towards the winning score. But his efforts put forward to win the match in a critical stage was drowned away.
Although, with the zeal he has and the way he played made him gain huge respect from the fans as well as critics.
The former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who has called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ had given an appreciation.

Ravindra Jadeja had not played in the first eight matches of India’s World Cup as he was a substitute fielder. However, Jadeja was included in the final match against Sri Lanka.
Jadeja was under huge controversy by Sanjay Manjrekar when he was taken into the team.
“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” – Manjrekar said.

Ravindra Jadeja was far from Manjrekar analysis and took a tweet to say that he had enough of Manjrekar’s verbal diarrhea.
In the post-match presentation, India’s Capitan Virat Kohli appreciated Jadeja for his crucial innings.
“Jadeja had a really good couple of games and it’s his performances that are a huge positive. New Zealand deserve it, they put us under more pressure,” – Kohli said.
For India, it was a repeat of 2015 World Cup, after a dominating performance in the group stage, India went down to Australia. In 2019, India is on the top of the group stage lost the match against New Zealand in semi-finals.
