He formed a vital 54-run partnership with Tim David 33 from 14 balls, helping the team score 65 runs in the final four overs of the first innings. While Adelaide’s bowling side produced respectable figures, Jamie Overton with 2/27 in 4 overs was the best performer in the bowling side.

Adelaide’s Efforts in Vain

Adelaide Strikers, have been missing their key batter Jake Weatherald due to injury, but they were excited by the return of Chris Lynn from calf soreness. The Strikers now face a challenging chase, captain Matt Short knocked 52 runs, with D’Arcy Short scoring 41, Strikers raced to 105 off the first nine overs but fell behind the required rate. The Shorts added 76 for the first wicket before D’Arcy was dismissed.

Matt Short hit a huge six for his 14th BBL half-century but was caught by Nathan Ellis in a stunning grab. Alex Ross fell to a remarkable catch from Tim David, while Pope was dismissed by Chris Jordan. Overton’s late knocks against Riley Meredith provided some late relief, but the Strikers still fell short of 11 runs to secure the win.
