Being invited to bat first, the Adelaide Strikers posted a decent total of 174 at the batting friendly surface at The  

After losing half of their side at 112 for 5 in 15.4 overs, the Strikers, however, were looking in trouble to touch even the 150-mark, but thanks to Jamie Overton late heroics that guided Strikers to 174.  

Overton, who came in to bat at number six position went on to hit an unbeaten 45* off 24 that included three fours and three maximums.  

Brisbane in reply lost both of their openers early, but thanks to Matt Renshaw’s 54 off 27 that rescued the side from early setbacks. His knock was crucial in giving the Heat much needed acceleration during the first 10 overs of the clash.  

Renshaw received complete backing from Nathan McSweeney, who recently joined the team. After Renshaw got out when the Heat still needing 90 in 62, McSweeney took the entire responsibility and defied all odds to play a sensational knock of not out 78 off 49 while batting at number 3 for the Heat.
