The BCCI’s decision regarding Chinese sponsorship in the IPL:
The decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the Chinese sponsorship in the cash-rich tournament- Indian Premier League (IPL) will be made by considering the best interest of cricket as well as the country. A source of the Indian cricket board said that without taking any confirmation on this matter no decision has been finalized for the Indian Premier League. All these things will be discussed in the IPL review meeting.
He also added that “As per now, no date has been finalized for the Indian Premier League for the IPL review meeting. Apart from this, there are also other issues on which now BCCI is focussing. The IPL franchises are liberated to give their valuable opinions. We will take a decision definitely which will be best for the interest of both crickets as well as the country. The review meeting of IPL will be held once we finish on other surrounding problems of IPL.”
All these issues came out because of the ongoing border tensions between India and China in Eastern Ladakh. This issue led to discussions about Chinese sponsorship in India’s massive league- India Premier League (IPL).
India Government Banned Chinese apps:
Earlier on Monday (30-06-2020), the government of India banned 59 numbers of Chinese applications including highly popular Tik Tok and UC Browser.
In a release, the Ministry of Information Technology said that the decision of blocking the 59 Chinese apps came behind that the data available that they are engaged in various activities which are highly harmful to sovereignty as well as the integrity of India, Indian defense system, state security, and public order.”
Ravi Shankar Prasad– Law, Electronics, and Information Technology Minister said that the Indian government has banned the Chinese apps for safety, defense, security, integrity, and sovereignty of India.
