BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Reacts To Ramiz Raja’s 4-Nation Series Proposal

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Ramiz Raja proposed for a quadrangular T20I Super Series including India, England, Pakistan, and Australia which could be contested every year. Jay Shah Reacts To Ramiz Raja on his 4-Nation Series Proposal.

Raja also said that the 4 nations will take chance rotationally in hosting the series and that a potential revenue model will be developed in which earnings will be split on a percentage basis with each ICC member. Raja had also stated that if this occurs, cricket would conquer.

“Will propose to the ICC a Four Nations T20I Super Series involving Pakistan, India, Australia, and England to be played every year, to be hosted on a rotational basis by these four. A separate revenue model with profits to be shared on a percentage basis with all ICC members. I think we have a winner,” said Ramiz Raja.

Whereas, Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah, in response said that the BCCI’s first objective is to protect bilateral cricket at home. Shah also stated that the primary focus will be on Test cricket. Shah is also eager for cricket to be included in the Olympics.

“With the IPL window expanding and the ICC (global) events every year in the cycle, our primary responsibility is to safeguard bilateral cricket at home, with emphasis on Test cricket. I am also looking forward to seeing cricket at the Olympics, as that will help the game grow,” said Shah.

“Expansion of the sport is a challenge that our game faces and we must prioritize it over any short-term commercial initiative,” added Shah. “I want to assure you that BCCI is not only sincere but is taking all necessary steps to start a full-fledged women’s league similar to the IPL soon,” concluded Shah.
