BCCI Recruits Batting, Bowling, And Fielding Coaches At NCA

Over one year since the BCCI opted not to extend the yearly contracts of 11 instructors at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), featuring 5 former India cricketers – Ramesh Powar, Sujith Somsundar, SS Das, Subroto Banerjee, and Hrishikesh Kanitkar – the cricket council is recruiting afresh.Now latest BCCI news came that BCCI is Recruits batting bowling and fielding coches in NCA

The BCCI has opened requests for the positions of batting, bowling (fast & spin bowling), fielding coaches, and ‘Head of Cricket Education’ at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on its webpage, upon widening the closing date for applications for the role of ‘Head of Cricket‘ at the NCA until August 31.

Many other coaching opportunities have a deadline of September 10th to register. This is a strong indication that the NCA is back in full operational mode following brief intervals of delay caused by Covid-induced lockdowns in both phases.

Former India all-rounders and brothers Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, ex-India opener and selector Devang Gandhi, Ashok Dinda, Abhishek Nayar, Jammu & Kashmir all-rounder Naman Ojha, and Parveez Rasool were among those who attended a level 2 hybris training for cricket coaches earlier. Irfan Pathan said after the 8-day onsite training that former India captain Dravid taking up the job of Head Coach at NCA was the finest thing that had happened to Indian cricket.

So far, only Dravid has applied for the position of Head of Cricket at NCA. This has put a stop to rumours that he will succeed Ravi Shastri as head coach of the senior national team after the T20 World Cup in November.

All of these job openings at NCA have an age limit of 60.

NCA’s batting coaches were Shiv Sundar Das and Kanitkar, while the bowling coaches were Banerjee (pace) and Powar (spin) and Somasundar is presently the ‘Head of Cricket Education.’While Das is the team’s batting coach and Powar is presently the India women’s team’s head coach.
