BCCI Provides Reason Behind Jadeja’s Omission From WI Series

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the Indian team that will face the West Indies in a limited-overs series consisting of three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals. Ravindra Jadeja was absent from the Indian team. The BCCI has also explained why the all-rounder was not selected for the Indian limited-overs team.

The BCCI’s official Twitter account revealed that Jadeja is getting towards the recovery from a knee injury and will therefore skip the limited-overs series versus the West Indies. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have also been sidelined for the series, according to the BCCI source.

Ravindra Jadeja last appeared for India in the first Test versus New Zealand in November 2021. In the game, he took 5 wickets. Due to injury, the left-arm spin bowler was unable to participate in India’s tour to South Africa.

Jadeja has appeared in 168 ODIs, 57 Tests, and 55 T20Is for India. In the longest phase of the game, the 33-year-old has scored 2195 runs and grabbed 232 wickets. Jadeja has produced 2411 runs and sacked 188 wickets in ODI cricket. Jadeja hit 256 runs and took 46 wickets for the ‘Men in Blue’ in T20I. He has also featured a whopping 200 IPL matches in his stint.
