For the global event, the BCCI is anticipated to announce a 15-player lineup, with at least 3 players as reserves, most likely Prithvi Shaw and Ishan Kishan, and a spinner. However, there has yet to be any formal notification in this respect.

The Indian team is presently in the United Kingdom with 20 members and 4 bench players for the upcoming Test series with England, which is probably tied at 1-1 with India victory at Lord’s and England victory at Headingley. Due to continuous rain on the 5th and final day of the 1st match at Trent Bridge, no result was achieved.

With 2 more games remaining – at the Oval and Old Trafford – the squad will stay in England until September 16 before departing for the UAE, where the IPL will start on 16th September. The league’s 2nd leg finishes on 15th October 15, only 2 days even before T20 World Cup is set to begin.

India is in Group B with Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan, whereas England, South Africa, Australia, and the West Indies are in Group A. The Super12 stage of the competition begins on October 23 in Abu Dhabi, with a Group A match involving Australia and South Africa, backed by a match between England and the West Indies on the same day.

The group round matches will be completed on 8th November 8, accompanied by the 2 semi-finals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on November 10th and 11th. The final will take place on November 14 in Dubai.
