BCCI calls a Review meeting on Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid ahead of Bangladesh Tour.
BCCI Review Meeting: The BCCI has called on the Skipper Rohit Sharma, also the former Indian player and present coach of team India for a review meeting ahead of the Bangladesh Tour of India. The Meeting will be on December 1. The Board will also meet Virat Kohli in the meeting. Some of the selectors will also be present in the meet as the meeting will be held in Mumbai. Also, discussing about the T20 WC performance Review, the main agenda of the meeting in to discuss the Strategy about the upcoming tour and team selection. The main agenda of the discussion will be Split Captaincy and Split Coaching
“There will be a meeting. I can’t tell you exactly when. We are supposed to meet Rohit and Rahul before they leave for Bangladesh. There are few things to discuss. There is no review as such. we need to plan for the next World Cup. Rohit and Rahul both know what changes we need. As for split captaincy and coach, once we meet with the coach and captain besides selectors, we will take a call.”

Split captaincy and the Split Coaching; Ind vs Ban
Among the few changes veterans and experts have called for after India’s yet another disappointing outing in the T20 World Cup, split captaincy was among them. England and the Australian Cricket team were the first team to inhibit the Split captaincy for the White ball and the red ball formats respectively. As per the reports the selection committee will choose the skippers for the same across the all three formats: ODI, Test, T20.
At present three captains are leading in the respective teams in the other formats and the Series.
What is Split Captaincy? Ind vs Ban
Split captaincy is divides the tasks as the skipper to lead a team in a specific format. Such as India is having a only skipper Rohit Sharma for all the three formats. Split captaincy defines a respective skipper for all three formats separately for ODI, Test and T20s to lessen the burden of the cricketer.
At present, Rohit Sharma is leading the team in all formats, but Hardik Pandya is the captain of the side for the ongoing limited-overs tour of New Zealand. Pandya is the favourite to take over the reins in the shortest format. After leading Gujarat Titans to the Indian Premier League title in their inaugural season itself the image of the cricketer emerged as the leader.
Another possible contender for captaincy, Jasprit Bumrah, is out injured at the moment. As for Rohit, he is already 35 years old and the Board may want to keep him as captain for the next year’s 50-over World Cup on home soil. Pandya is served with opportunities keeping in mind the next T20 World Cup in 2024 in the West Indies and United States. Most of the senior players who played the recent edition in Australia are unlikely to be in the team for the next edition. Also, the job of the head coach is not under the threat.

BCCI is open to ideas of a foreign coach.
BCCI also wants to change that India need a Reinvention of T20 approach and that is whre they need new ideas. Even though Gautam Gambhir and others have asked for an Indian Coach. It will lessen the burden on Dravid. Who faced a criticism for frequent breaks as well.

“We can’t afford to lose repeatedly and will not take chances anymore. It is already in discussion with Rohit Sharma and he is comfortable with idea of the appointment of new captain for the T20 format. We will do the same with Rahul. He without doubt is an asset. But there is too much on his plate and we want to reduce his load. We will soon meet him,”
