Bangladesh Cricket Board Decided To Postpone The Ongoing Under-19 Camp From Saturday:
After several players showed signs of COVID-19, the Bangladesh Cricket Board decided to delay the ongoing Under-19 camp from Saturday as a precautionary measure. It was also verified by BCB officials that three players were found to be positive.
After it started on October 1, the camp was scheduled to run for a month. BCB game development chairman Khaled Mahmud confirmed Cricbuzz ‘s rise. “As some of the cricketers had symptoms, we stopped the Under-19 camp on Saturday (October 17) and we didn’t want to take any chances,” he said. “Along with that, the Under-19 Asia Cup was also postponed, so we thought it was best to give them some rest as a month-long camp they had done earlier. We’re going to sit next month to see if we can arrange a few matches for them as we have to see them perform in match conditions.”
BCB noticed a few cricketers and some team management members with symptoms that forced them to extend their break until further notice from October 14, and as the number increased, they agreed to postpone the camp.BCB has also isolated around 15 cricketers in the dormitory of the National Swimming Complex in Mirpur while other cricketers are staying separately. Under-19 head coach Naved Newaz is also in isolation.
